What is 3D animation?
3D animation is a digital art form that involves creating moving images using three-dimensional computer-generated graphics. Unlike traditional 2D animation, which is flat and lacks depth, 3D animation adds a sense of realism and depth to characters, environments, and objects. It is achieved through complex software that allows animators to model, texture, rig, animate, and render objects in a 3D space.
What is Odd Robot Academy?
Odd Robot Academy is a special service exclusive to the Central Coast. We provide in person home tutoring and online lessons in a program called Blender. Blender is powerful and free 3D animation software which can be used to make movies, video game assets and models to 3D print. We teach the latest techniques to set our students up with the skills they need to create their own projects.
We also provide 3D Art Therapy and Mentoring sessions which focus on developing technical, communication, artistic and problem solving skills.

Our Lessons
Our lessons are 1 hour long and usually taught once or twice a week. We like to tailor our lessons to suit our students interests and needs. If the student is interested in Spiderman then we can incorporate him into our lessons. We have a wide variety of 3D assets covering many different genres of pop culture.
All of our lessons will require the student to have a working computer or laptop, an up to date copy of Blender and a mouse. Online lessons will also require a second monitor and a headset for communication. Our online lessons are taught from our private Discord server.

Online lessons offer convenience and flexibility, allowing students to learn from anywhere at any time. Additionally, online lessons often provide opportunities for real-time feedback and assessment, enabling students to track their progress and address areas of improvement promptly. Our online lessons are performed from our Discord server. The student will need a second monitor and headset to communicate.

Contact us to book a trial lesson now! We offer a trial lesson in which we run the student through the process of creating a 3D Pokeball from start to finish. If the student is happy to proceed with more lessons we can organise a block of 5 or 10 to be taught once or twice a week.
